Shumanska Alena

UX/UI Designer • Course author • Design blog

I am a UX/UI designer with over a year of commercial experience and 5 years of learning the craft. I have a technical background in cybersecurity that has shaped my analytical thinking. My process starts with research — competitor analysis, user interviews, hypothesis testing — because I believe good design decisions should be earned, not assumed. I care about logic, efficiency, and the kind of interface that feels obvious to use, even when its design wasn't.

What sets me apart from other designers?

My approach to design goes much deeper than just making a visually appealing interface.

Experience in
cybersecurity
Over 5 years in IT, specifically in the field of cybersecurity. I have a good understanding of how digital products work from the inside out — from how domains, networks, links work to how to make a site accessible and safe for everyone. This allows me to think not only as a designer, but as part of a technical team. It helps me speak the same language as developers, understand constraints, and find solutions rather than creating something abstract.
SMM
MARKETING
It is important to me that interfaces work for the brand, not just look stylish. I am able to think in terms of promotion, recognition and the overall impression of the product. I create interfaces that do not just look good - they work for the promotion and recognition of the product.
Knowledge of

Experience
with Webflow
I can implement a test site to quickly test hypotheses or create a landing page without involving developers.
Experience working with outsourced products
I worked with outsourced products for different markets, so I can quickly adapt to the specifics of the client, to different cultures, briefs, time zones, and "can I do it yesterday?")
In the end
I am a designer who knows how to not only look beautiful, but also take a practical and strategic approach to solving problems and creating quality products. I am easy to communicate with, and I always keep my focus on the real result - to make it both beautiful and functional.
